App How To: Pinterest for the iPad

In this video I take a quick look at all the features that have been released in the new iPad Pinterest app. The app allows you almost all the same functionality that the web offers minus rearranging your boards.

Once you load up the app you are first asked to login to your Pinterest account via Facebook, Twitter, or Email. If you don't have an account yet you can create one at first login. If you have not linked Twitter to your iPad it will make you do this first if that is your preferred way to sign in.

Once you are logged in you will then see everybody's pins that you follow. You can easily scroll down the page to see all of the pins. To repin, like, or comment all you need to do is click on a picture and you are given those options. If a picture is too large you may need to scroll to the bottom of the page to see the comment menu.

In the top left of the app there is a menu icon. You can open the menu by clicking on the icon or by swiping your finger on the screen to the right. In the menu you can browse different categories as well as open up a built in web browser or view your profile and settings.

When you go to the built in web browser you can then search for anything on the web and then Pin It right from the app. This is works really well and it is easy to use.

When you click on the settings in the menu you can easily change your Facebook sharing settings and other options just like you would on the web.

Once you are done browsing a certain category or the web there is a X box on the current tab in the upper right corner that you can click to take you back to the main page.

The app runs very well and is performs that main features of Pinterest well. If you have any questions please leave a comment below and I will do my best to answer you.

Apple announced it's new iPhone, the iPhone 4S but to me the most important thing that was announced was the availability of iOS 5 on October 12. There are over 200 new features that have been added. Make sure you get your iOS device all backed up before the big day so you are ready to download and install the new and shiny OS.

Steve Jobs resigns as CEO of Apple

Steve We all know that this day would come but didn't expect so soon. He states:
'I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple's CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.
I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.
As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.
I believe Apple's brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.
I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.
Steve'
Keynotes will never be the same.

Who would have thought that this would be so simple. It took me awhile to find it but glad I did. If you want to scroll through your albums on Google Music using the iPad you just need to use 2 fingers to scroll up and down.

Mac OS X (10.7) Lion, Available Today

Max OS X Launchpad
Apple just released Mac OS X Lion for Macs. You must already have Snow Leopard (10.6.8) installed on your machine with the Mac App Store to be able to buy the new software update for $29.99. The update comes with many great features such as Multi-Touch Gestures, Full-Screen Apps, and Launchpad.

Some of these new features came to the Mac because of well they worked on the iPad. Launchpad is a new way to view all of your applications that looks just like an iPad screen. You are also able to organize your apps into folders just like on iOS.

Full-Screen Apps are also taken from the iPad. For the first time on OS X this allows you to take advantage of your full display and cut out the clutter of the dock and other apps that are open.

The Mac App Store is also new. Apple has had incredible success with the App Store on iOS with 15 Billion downloads. They have now incorporated the Mac App Store into this new OS update that allows you find the right apps for your Mac, all in one place.

Multi-Touch Gestures are a main feature in almost every iOS app. With all Macbooks having a multi-touch trackpad this makes it so most Macs can use this feature. Even if you have an iMac you can easily purchase a Magic Trackpad to allow you to use these new gestures. These gestures allow you to quickly jump to Mission Control where you see all open apps, to swiping left and right to jump between other open apps in Full-Screen mode.

No need to waste any more time. Go start the download now because the 4GB file might take some time depending on your connection. Let me know how it goes.

Ode to Chad's iPad

This is Chad's iPad
He did not think it was a fad
Protected it with ZAGG
It fit very well in a bag
At work it brought him joy
As if he was a little boy
He put his boy in the car
Placing the iPad on top but not far
To his destination her arrived
At that moment he almost cried
Tracing back his drive
The iPad looked still alive
Leaping into traffic was his desire
Right before it was run over by a tire.

Help my friend. Auction ends soon. Ebay
Update: Auction Ended, let me know if you want to help him get a new one.

Steve Jobs Presents New Office

If you think your day job is just another job in another building it probably is, unless you work for Apple. Yesterday Steve Jobs presented a new office building to hold 12,000 employees in Cupertino. Steve is definitely the creator or jobs. This building will not just be the only location for Apple but it will be an addition too an existing office which will continue to hold 8,000 employees.

Now if you didn't know, Steve Jobs is the CEO of Apple Inc. and Apple is the creator of the iMac, Macbook, Macbook Pro, Macbook Air, iPod Touch, iPhone, and the iPad. It looks like the Cupertino City Council is pretty star struck and to much in love to give any opposing vote.

The iPad 2! All you need to know.

What another amazing Apple event that was. Apple is doing a great job at refreshing it's products fast. She here are my predictions for the iPad 2.

  • New A5 processor. Not sure on the speed.
  • A pixel density screen.
  • Weight 1 lb. (Close)
  • Front facing 2MP camera for Facetime.
  • A sd card slot to easily transfer pictures.
  • No price change.
  • Ability to sync the 30 connecter with Thunderbolt.
More than half right but I did miss a few things. They made it slimmer, added the function to mirror screen onto TV with HDMI, a rear camera, and many other features.

Go here to see the full specs. So my question to you is, does the iPad now have all you need or do you still think that it is a fad? Sound off in the comments. Thanks for reading!
